Lady Gaga Creates Event For Healthcare Workers In Collaboration With WHO & Global Citizen

Coronavirus is not limited to just one country but has become a global pandemic. Considering the seriousness of the issue, the pop-sensation Lady Gaga came forth and planned a comprehensive event to support the deeds of healthcare workers working selflessly to fight against coronavirus.

The event is a global television and streaming special called “One World: Together At Home.”
Gaga created the event in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and Global Citizen, an international advocacy organization.

While WHO and the rest of the healthcare industry across the world are busy finding a vaccine for COVID-19, your favorite Gaga is also trying her bit to help the society.

She curated a globe broadcast, “One World: Together At Home,” which will go live on April 18.

According to UN News, along with Gaga, several other celebrities will also perform during this broadcast. The popular names include Chris Martin, David Beckham, Eddie Vedder, Elton John, FINNEAS, Idris and Sabrina Elba, etc.

The Bad Romance singer took her social media handle to share the details about this event with her millions of followers.

Announcing the event, Gaga revealed that she has been secretly working with Global Citizen on this initiative for a long time.

“It has been an honor to partner with Global Citizen over the past several weeks as we’ve been working together behind the scenes to raise money for the WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund,” she wrote in her Instagram story.

Expressing her excitement, she told that she’s blown to watch the triumphant of bravery for the healthcare professionals.

Gaga shared that the Solidarity Response Fund will be used for the healthcare professionals working on the frontline as well as people suffering from Corona.

Further, Gaga also told that she along with her supporters successfully raised $35 million in just a week.

“7 days ago we held a call with more than 68 corporate leaders from some of the largest companies. I asked them to join my corporate kindness list, and in just a week we had raised over $35 Million,” reads her words.

Reportedly, this money will go towards the essential PPE supplies and testing kits.

Concluding her Instagram status she also talked about “One World: Together At Home,” and assured her fans that this event is not a part of the fundraising program but solely curated for entertainment purposes.
